Eurotech Safety is a Toronto-based company offering building inspections and installations. The dual nature of fire and water was revamped in a fresh logo in 2018 as well as a facelift for the website. While working within this company's office as an Admin Assistant, I approached the VP myself and offered to redesign the entire logo and website, as it looked visibly outdated.
The challenge was to maintain the brand identity of industrial and technical while adding a contemporary look - keeping the sans serif type but arranging it in a strong and sturdy look proved to be the key in maintaining that brand.
I had to interpret the symbol from scratch as it was made by a long-gone designer; my own interpretation was that the red and blue represented fire and water, and the black dot was the customer being cradled by the two wings to represent safety and protection. Taking this interpretation, I aligned the two into a more streamlined and unified look that also incorporated the black dot more smoothly.
